Pursuant to the provisions of Law No.

312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank

of Romania, as of 30 September 2019, the

National Bank of Romania will put into

circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver

coin dedicated to 100 years of Romanian

academic higher education in Cluj.

The coin has the following characteristics:

: the building and name of Babes-

Bolyai University in Cluj, the inscription

“ROMANIA”, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat

of arms of Romania and the year of issue

“2019”.

Reverse:the Aula Magna of Babes-Bolyai

University, an open book featuring the

inscription “TRADITIO NOSTRA UNACUM

EUROPAE VIRTUTIBUS SPLENDET”, the

circular inscription “100 DE ANI DE

UNIVERSITATE ROMANEASCA LA CLUJ” and

the years  “1919-2019”.

The silver coins are individually housed in

transparent plastic capsules and are

accompanied by leaflets featuring a

presentation of the numismatic issue in

Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet

comes with a certificate of authenticity

bearing the signatures of the Governor and

the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of

Romania.

The mintage of this issue is 300 silver coins.

The selling price is lei 385.00, VAT excluded,

per silver coin, including the leaflet.

The silver coins dedicated to 100 years of

Romanian academic higher education in Cluj

are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The silver coins will be put into circulation,

for numismatic purposes, through the

regional branches of the National Bank of

Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca,

Constanta, Craiova, Iasi and Timisoara.

On September 10, at the 23rd General Assembly

of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), held

in St. Petersburg, Mrs. prof. univ. dr. Gabriela Tigu,

the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and

vicepresident of FIJET Romania, was elected a

member of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics

(WCTE), for a four-year mandate, a premiere for

Romania in this forum.

The selection, which lasted 4 months, was made

by a number of 29 candidates from different

countries of the world.

The World Committee for Ethics in Tourism consist

of 8 members and a president, coming from all

geographical regions of the world. Established in

2003, the World Committee on Tourism Ethics is

the impartial body responsible for interpreting,

applying and evaluating the provisions of the

UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism  among

world countries.
